A minimum of six soil vapor samples
will be obtained from VEWI at 15 minutes, 45 minute, 1 '/z hours, 3 hours,
5 '/z hours and 8 hours into the pilot test. A flame ionization detector (FID)
will be used to monitor off-gas emissions from the extraction well and after
the carbon filter every 15 minutes during the pilot test
i, , , , , ,, I F, , , • two 175-pound vapor-phase granular activated carbon canisters (biofilters)
will be used to treat off-gas emissions (remove petroleum hydrocarbons)
Frio ,r„ ; , , , , during the test. The canisters will be equipped with sampling ports,
temperature gauges, pressure gauges and an exhaust stack. In the event of
breakthrough during the pilot test, the positions of the canisters will be
switched
I
• equipment utilized for the vapor extraction and air sparging pilot tests will
consist of a 5.5-horsepower skid mounted explosion-proof regenerative
IIIblower with a rated capacity of 280 standard cubic foot per minute (sI5-
"` ' "" horsepower Gast pressure blower, a 60-kilowatt MQ60 generator, a 40-gallon
moisture separator, in-line 10 micron filter, a coalescing oil filter,
instrumentation for measuring air velocity and barometric pressure, air flow
rates, and vacuum pressure, polyvinyl chloride piping, fittings, magnehelic
o n, pressure gauges, and wellhead connections, and air sample collection
equipment
air,_+ ; :' 1434
,-.. ou,. °, f _ ,, s
