PHS/EHD stated that the northern and eastern Emits of the contamination
plume in groundwater have not been defined. PHS/EHD recommended installing
additional monitoring wells on the north and east side of the building located on the
northeast comer of the site. The physical layout of the property, overhead obstructions, city
sewer lines , and hazardous conditions posed by the traffic on Fremont Avenue make
installation of monitoring wells using hollow stem auger drilling difficult. WKA proposed
using push point technology modified to comply with San Joaquin CountyWell Standards
requirements .
Submit a work plan that will define the lateral extent of the contamination in both soil and
groundwater at the site by June 15, 2000. If you have any questions, please contact Jeffrey
Wong at (209) 468-0335 .
Donna Heran, RENS , Director
Environmental Health Division
C
effre , REHS Margaret gorio, REHS
mj
Y on g
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
c: RWQCB, Central Valley Region - Warren M.
