404 WEST FREMONT <br />' WKA No 1628 01 <br /> February 25, 1993 <br /> Page 2 <br />' Street and Van Buren Street, respectively The site is mostly paved with asphalt A building <br /> occupied by American Protective Services is located on the northern part of the site The Crystal <br /> Creamery refrigerated warehouse with a loading dock is located in the southern portion of the <br />' site The former underground tank was located between the two building as shown on Plate 2 <br />' Mr Steve Jerkins of Crystal Creamery was interviewed by telephone on April 29, 1991 <br /> regarding historical information on the underground storage tank previously removed from the <br />' site He indicated no specific knowledge of existing records of tank maintenance, leaks, spills or <br /> accidents He also indicated that he had no personal knowledge of fill or use records <br /> ' Project History <br /> The following information was obtained during a review of files located at the San Joaquin <br /> County Environmental Health Department <br /> ' One 10,000-gallon regular unleaded gasoline storage tank was removed from the site on <br /> September 3, 1986 Test results of soil samples collected from beneath the tank by Michael <br /> Ramos, immediately following the tank removal, revealed total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) as <br /> gasoline concentranons ranging from <20 mg/kg to 3,600 mg/kg (Table 1, Plate 3) <br /> ' On October 29, 1986 Applied GeoSystems (AGS) drilled and sampled two soil borings Boring <br /> 131 was advanced to 21 5 feet below grade, ground water was encountered at 16 3 feet below <br /> ' grade during drilling Boring B2, which was subsequently converted to monitoring well MW 1, <br /> C was advanced to 38 5 feet below grade, ground water was reportedly encountered at 18 feet <br /> below grade during drilling One 15-foot soil sample from each boring was tested and revealed <br /> TPH-gasoline concentrations of 0 2 mg/kg in the sample from boring B1 and 28 6 mg/kg in the <br /> sample from boring B2 In addition to the borings, AGS deepencd the existing excavation and <br /> obtained soil samples S1 and S2 at depths of 14 and 12 feet, respectively Test results revealed <br /> TPH-gasoline concentrations of 2241 mg/kg in sample S1 and 2 1 rig/kg In S2 Test results of a <br /> water sample coilected from well MWI. sometime between October 29 and November 11. 1986, <br /> 7 <br /> ' UVAlLAC: KU: <br /> R.�.Ld L ASSOQAT=s WC <br />
