404 WEST FREMONT <br />' WKA No 1628 01 <br /> February 25, 1993 <br /> Page 3 <br />' revealed a TPH-gasoline concentration of 1158 mg/f and a benzene concentration of <br /> 1 539 mg/Q <br /> Soil samples 5-16-1, 5-16-2, 5-18-3, and 5-18-5 were collected during additional excavation of <br /> contaminated soil on January 14, 1987 The samples were collected from depths of 16 and 18 <br />' feet Test results revealed TPH-gasoline concentrations ranging from 0 8 mg/kg to 596 mg/kg <br /> Locations of the boring and excavation samples are shown on Plate 3, laboratory results are <br />' summarized in Table 1 <br />' The excavation was reportedly deepened on July 29, 1987 to a depth of approximately 22 feet <br /> No record of sou sampling during this excavation is available The excavation was teportedly <br />' backfilled with clean imported soil and the contaminated soils stockpiled on-site <br /> On January 13, 1988, a representative of AGS visited the site and ased a portable soil vapor <br /> laboratory to evaluate the lateral extent of hydrocarbon contamination in both the soil and ground <br /> water Samples collected during the soil vapor procedure reported no detectable levels of BTEX <br /> above a detection level of 2 parts per million {ppm} Results of the soil vapor survey are <br /> included in an AGS report dated March 15, 1988 <br /> A January 11 1991 AGS letter to Crystal Creameryreported that a composite sample of <br />' stockpiied sods had been analyzed for TPH-gasoline and BTEX Results of the lat)oratory tests <br /> were below detection levels The stockpiled sods were removed at the request of Crystal <br />' Creamery and transported to Holt Dump neat Stockton <br />' Site Vicinity <br /> ' The Chase Chevrolet property located to the east of the site at 423 North Madison Street is <br /> reported to have soil and ground water contamination as a result of leaking underground fuel <br /> storage tanks This property covers two city blocks between Fremont Street to the north and <br /> Lindsay Street to the south, and Van Buren Street to the west and Madison Street to the east <br /> ' � U <br /> ' WAI.I.E.`C_ .CURL <br /> Re�rled(Yyrr &ASSOCIATES IKC <br />
