08 April 1997 <br /> AGE-NC Project No. 95-0167 <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br /> sleeve will be covered with Teflon sheets, capped and sealed with tape. Samples will be labeled, <br /> placed in a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody procedure to a State-certified <br /> laboratory. Each sample sleeve will be labeled with the following: boring location, depth, time, date <br /> and sampler's initials . <br /> Grab ground water samples will be collected from three of the soil probe borings using a Geoprobe <br /> water sampling assembly. Samples will be collected in 40-m1 VOA vials labeled, placed in a chilled <br /> container and transported under chain-of-custody to a State-certified laboratory. <br /> 3 .2 . EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION <br /> All sampling tools and brass sleeves used for sample collection will be thoroughly rinsed with clean <br /> water after washing with a solution of Alconox. All probing rods will be cleaned prior to <br /> advancement at each probe boring location. <br /> 3 . 3 . LABORATORY ANALYSIS <br /> Selected soil and ground water samples will be analyzed for TPH-g, BTE&X and methyl-butyl <br /> tertiary ether (MTBE) in accordance with EPA methods 8015m/5030 and 8020/602, respectively. <br /> Laboratory reports of both soil and ground water analysis, testing methods, laboratory quality <br /> assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain-of-custody documentation will be <br /> presented in a report with the findings and recommendations. <br /> 4.0. PROCEDURES <br /> 4. 1 . COLLECTION OF SOIL AND GROUNDWATER SAMPLES' <br /> For the collection of soil and ground water samples, the following procedures will be performed: <br /> 1 . Prepare a site health and safety plan in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health <br /> Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (Prepared by National Institute for <br /> Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U.S . Coast Guard and U. S . Environmental <br /> Protection Agency, 1985) . <br /> 2 .
