o,
' 27 July 2000
AGE-NC Project No 95-0167
3 3 LABORATORY RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was detected in the water samples collected from monitoring wells MW 1 and MW2 at
' concentrations of 21,000 micrograms per liter (,ug/1) and 1,100 ,ug/l, respectively
BTEX compounds were detected in the water samples collected from monitoring wells MW 1 and
' MW2 at concentrations as high as 5,100 µg/1, 1,400 4g/1, 140 ,ug/l and 1,400 µg11, respectively
Toluene was detected in samples collected from MW3 and MW4 at 1 5 gg/1 and 1 3 gg/l,
respectively MTBE was not detected by EPA Method 8020 MTBE was detected by EPA Method
8260 Modified in samples from wells MW1 and MW2 at concentrations of 150 µg/1 and 6 0 µg/l,
respectively No other oxygenates were detected in the ground water samples
' Analytical results of water samples collected in June 2000 are summarized on Table 2 and Table 3
The laboratory report (MAI Sample ID Nos 40190-40193), QA/QC report and chain-of-custody
form are included in Appendix B Figure 4 depicts the estimated areal distribution of impacted
' ground water containing TPH-g for 12 June 2000
4 0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Data collected at the site indicates that
• The ground water flow direction during this monitoring event was toward the northeast at
' a gradient of 0 0016 ft/ft
• Relatively high concentrations of TPH-g and BTEX occur in ground water in the area of
monitoring wells MW 1 and MW2
' • MTBE is present in monitoring wells MW1 and MW2 at concentrations as high as 150,ug/l
(sample MW- 1)
' • TPH-g was not present in ground water near the western edge of the building on the site or
at the northern boundary of the site, however, low concentration of xylenes impact the
' ground water in these locations
_5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on present site conditions, AGE recommends
' Quarterly monitoring and sampling should continue at the site
