Fremont St. ; Site Code 1114
Dear Steve;
In our correspondence of September 15 , 1994 , you were given some
time frames for both the reexcavation of the area which contained
the UST, and a fourth monitoring well in a downgradient position
in an attempt to determine the "zero" in that direction. I wish
to update you on the status of these projects , since we am not
going to be able to meet the deadlines given in that letter.
We sent out some RFP' s for the excavation work last month, but
received no response. Today we are sending out five ( 5)
additional letters; hopefully we will get something back this
time. In the meantime, we will prepare a workplan for reentering
the site of the removed UST so that it can be finalized and
submitted to your office as soon as possible after selecting a
contractor. We would hope to have a workplan completed &
approved by our client by November 1 .
We have received bids from qualified drilling contractors , but
may have to solicit additional bids if there are space restrict-
ions that were not initially considered. We will begin prepar-
ation of that workplan while we are evaluating bids & reviewing
City permit requirements . Assuming we do not encounter any
unforeseen problems, that workplan should be completed, reviewed,
& approved -by our client by November 7 .
We apologize for the delay in completing these workplans; within
the last month we have supervised the installation of six (6)
monitoring wells & five (5) soil borings , plus preparing several
quarterly groundwater monitoring reports . Hopefully our workload
will ease up enough to allow us to finish the workplans for this
project.
Please give me a call if you have any questions .
Sincerekr
iWm.
