serves the houses. An irrigation well provides water supply to the fields. Septic
systems serve the assembly building and the two houses (Plate 3).
The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic
map, is approximately 26 to 28 feet above mean sea level. The Site is relatively flat
(Plate 4).
According to the San Joaquin County Community Development Department
(www.co.san-joaquin.ca.us), the Site is zoned AG-40, General Agriculture with a
minimum parcel size of 40 acres. This zoning designation "is established to preserve
agricultural lands for the continuation of commercial agriculture enterprises."
Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
Three septic systems are currently located on the Site, one for the California Islamic
Center and one for each house.
Proposed Septic System
An existing septic system serves the assembly building. As part of the Use Permit
approval, an addition to the existing system may be required.
On-Site Septic Permit History
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department septic permit files were
searched for the Site address. Four permits were identified:
• June 1982 permit for addition to existing septic system at the smaller house. The
permit indicated a 40-foot leach line and a sump were added to the system.
• April 2011 permit for addition to existing septic system at the larger house. The
permit indicates that the system utilizes a 1,200-gallon septic tank; two 100-foot
leach lines and two 12- by 2- by 10-foot deep sumps were added to the system.
• June 2011 building permit for the above new septic system at religious assembly
building.
• August 2014 permit for new septic system at religious assembly building. The
permit indicates that the system utilized two 2,000-gallon septic tanks, three 65-
foot leach lines, and six 36-inch diameter by 25-foot deep seepage pits.
The septic permits can be found in Appendix 2.
LOGE 1939 Page 2
