March 19, 2009
Environmental• Engineering• Geology Project Number 2009007
Number of Percolation Tests
44total of two percolation tests where conducted.
/Borehole Preparation and Presoak
Two soil boreholes were advanced on the site with a Drill rig on March 12, 2009. A 2-inch
diameter PVC pipe with perforations on the bottom was used to measure the drop of water in the
percolation test boring. Approximately 2 inches of "gravel" were placed in the bottom of the
open soil borehole, then the PVC pipe was installed on top of the gravel.
Presaturation of the percolation test holes occurred 24 hours before each percolation test. The
depth of water used to pre-soak was 12 inches above the bottom of the borehole.
//Condition of the test holes after pre-soak
After the 24 hour pre-soak,the boreholes appeared dry and intact on March 13, 2009.
'-Percolation Test Methods
Percolation tests where conducted on March 13, 2009 on two borehole locations. Percolation
tests where conducted in accordance with EHD Policy 02-02 — Policy for Percolation Test.
Procedure #2 was followed and a four hour percolation test was used. The last portion of the
tests where observed by a San Joaquin County Environmental Health representative.
An electric well sounder with depth accuracy of 1/100th foot was used to measure the
depth to water to a fixed reference point at the top of the pvc pipe. All depth values on the field
data sheet (appendix) are in decimal feet. After water drop was observed, the holes were
checked for refill. The refill level was approximately 0.5 ft (6 inches) of water above the bottom
JR SQUARED CONSULTING,INC.
