CvK First Quarter 2012 Status Summary Report
Former Tosco Bulk Terminal No.10013
April 30,2012
1
' Blanks (method)
• Spikes (surrogates, laboratory control samples, and matrix spikes)
• Duplicates (laboratory control spikes, and matrix spikes)
' Sample integrity (chain-of-custody documentation, sample preservation, and holding
time compliance)
• Lab qualifiers (to determine impact on sample results)
' Based on the QA/QC evaluation of above parameters, no systematic problems were
detected and the overall data objectives were met. All samples were analyzed within the
method-specific holding time criteria.
' The data reviewed are of acceptable precision and accuracy for project purposes. It should be
noted however that, according to the laboratory analytical report, an A52 qualifier was assigned
to detectable concentrations of TPH-d. The A52 qualifier indicates that the chromatogram for
that sample was not typical of diesel.
WASTE DISPOSAL
Purge water generated during quarterly monitoring and sampling was temporarily stored on site
in labeled 55-gallon drums, and removed on March 23, 2012 by an approved waste hauler and
disposed of at the Crosby and Overton disposal facility in Long Beach, California. A copy of the
waste manifest is included in Attachment C.
' QUARTERLY REMEDIAL ACTIVITIES
No Active remediation is currently being performed at the site.
RECENT SUBMITTALS
' ATC, Fourth Quarter and Annual 2011 Status Summary Report, dated February 1, 2012.
• ATC, No Further Action Request report, dated March 30, 2012.
' FIRST QUARTER 2012 COMPLETED SITE ACTIVITIES:
• ATC performed quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling on March 5 and 6, 2012.
' SECOND QUARTER 2012 PLANNED SITE ACTIVITIES:
' ATC to conduct quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling activities.
Please note, the Board of Directors of ConocoPhillips announced that it would pursue
the separation of the Refining & Marketing business and the Exploration & Production
into two separate stand-alone companies.
