An IT Hot Work permit must be completed and posted prior to any hot work (such as <br /> welding or cutting) on site, including hot work performed by subcontractors <br /> Fire lanes must be kept open at all tunes If fire hydrants are used as a source of water, a <br />' quick disconnect must be located at the hydrant <br /> Dry chemical fire extinguishers, with minimum 5A, 30BC ratings will be provided at all field <br /> work areas All vehicles shall be equipped with m n mum IA, 5BC rated fire extinguisher <br /> Any trailers used as office or work space shall be provided with at least one 2A, 30BC rated <br /> fire extinguisher <br /> In the case of a fire on the site, the FC will assess the situation and direct appropriate <br /> response activities IT personnel tramped m the use of extinguisher may attempt to extinguish <br /> ithe fire with available extinguishers, only if safe to do so <br /> I <br /> 4.2.77 Environmental Hazards <br /> Site workers should inspect protected areas (e g , pits, storage areas, debris piles and portable <br /> toilets) prior to reaching into them or entering them in any way. Stinging or biting creatures <br /> and their nests shall be avoided wherever possible, and workers shall wear long pants and <br /> gloves if necessary to protect them from bites and sharp or irritating plants Workers should <br /> also be warned to avoid disturbing fecal matter and to wash their hands prior to eating, <br /> drinking or smoking after handling dirt or debris <br /> 4.2.72 Housekeeping <br /> To minimize slip, trip and fall hazards caused by poor housekeeping, the following measures <br /> shall be taken: <br />' • Work areas shall be inspected daily for adequate housekeeping and findings <br /> recorded on daily inspection reports. <br /> i • All stairways, sidewalks, passageways, gangways, and accessways shall be kept <br /> free of materials, supplies and obstructions at all times <br /> • Loose or light material shall not be stored or left on roofs or floors that are not <br /> closed iii, unless safely secured. <br /> MZ(11-29-94/RHSAiASP/94-0037JAF 4-17 <br />
