Proposed Well ID Proposed Screened Interval <br /> (feet bgs) <br /> PS/WC-2S-R 5-20 <br /> PS/WC-2M-R 30-34 <br /> Monitoring well construction diagrams for the existing wells are included in Appendix B. Monitoring wells will <br /> be constructed of 2-inch-diameter, Schedule 40 PVC and screened intervals will consist of 0.010 machine- <br /> slotted screen. Well construction forms will be completed to document well installation details(Appendix C). <br /> Monitoring Well Development. Prior to installing the seal, each well will be developed by pumping and <br /> use of a surge block to clear sediment from the well screens and facilitate hydraulic communication with the <br /> surrounding water-bearing unit. <br /> Well Survey. After installation and development, the top of casing (TOC)of each well will be surveyed by a <br /> qualified surveyor to an accuracy of±0.01 foot. <br /> Groundwater Sampling. The replacement monitoring wells will be sampled consistent with the monitoring <br /> protocol for original wells PS/WC-2S and PS/WC-2M. The next sampling event will occur during third <br /> quarter 2011. <br /> Investigation-Derived Waste. Investigation-derived waste (IDW) will consist of soil from the explorations, <br /> decontamination water, purge water and personal protection equipment (PPE). Soil generated during the <br /> investigation will be placed in Department of Transportation (DOT)-approved drums. Each drum will be <br /> labeled with the project name, general contents and date. The IDW will be sampled, profiled for disposal, <br /> and stored at an approved on-site location pending proper recycling. <br /> Disposable items, such as sample tubing, disposable bailers, bailer line, gloves, protective overalls <br /> (e.g., Tyvek®), paper towels, etc.,will be placed in plastic bags after use and deposited in trash receptacles <br /> for disposal. <br /> 4.0 Reporting and Schedule <br /> Following completion of the investigation activities, a Well Relocation Report will be prepared documenting <br /> the field activities. <br /> Barring delays beyond the control of Ash Creek or NuStar (e.g., inclement weather, driller availability, etc.), '1 <br /> field work is anticipated to begin within 30 days of the approval of this Work Plan.
