Soil borings 4111 <br /> extend through the entire interval of contaminated soil and <br /> will terminate if saturated soil interval is encountered. <br /> a r� <br /> Sample Collection During ianx Removal <br /> Soil samples will be collected as soon as possible after <br /> removal of the tank where feasible, all preparations for <br /> x• soil sampling will be made prior to tank removal. Soil <br /> samples collected from a backhoe bucket or dirF-ctly from the <br /> excavation floor will be collected in a thin-w=fled stainless <br /> A steel or brass cylinder at least three Lnches long by one <br /> inch in diameter From 3 to 24 inches of soil will be <br /> ramoved from the -mmediate surface area where the sample Is <br /> to ce taken and the cylinder then pounded into the soil with <br /> a wooden mallet, sulk density driver, or other decontaminated <br /> driving device. Nto head space will be present in the <br /> cylinder once the sample is collected. If composite <br /> samples are collected, four brass cylinders 4ili be collected <br /> for every 50 cubic yards cf material to be sampled unless <br /> otherwise specified by the lead regulatory agency. The <br /> samples will be composited by the state certified analytical <br /> laboratory personnel prior to testing. <br />
