AW
Working To Restore Nature
•
1710 Main Street
Escalon, CA 95320
Phone: (209) 838-3507 July 29, 1993
FAX: (209) 838-3509 FILE
Ms. Diane Hinson
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
P.O. Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
RE: Nor-Cal Beverage Company, 1800 E. Fremont St., Stockton, California
Dear Ms. Hinson:
The purpose of this report is to summarize recent field activities and laboratory results for the
above referenced site (Figure 1).
• On July 13, 1993, the depth to groundwater in the existing on-site well (MW-1, Figure 2) was
measured to be 69.46 feet below grade. This depth is consistent with previous monitoring
events (Table 1).
A groundwater sample was collected on July 13, 1993 after purging and stabilization of pH,
conductivity and temperature. The sample was submitted to Zymax Envirotechnology (cert.
#1717) for analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG) and benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX) utilizing EPA methods 801518020. Analytical results are
summarized in Table 2. No benzene or TPHG was detected. Toluene (2.1 parts per billion
[ppbj), ethylbenzene (0.7 ppb) and xylenes (4.2 ppb) were reported. Groundwater monitoring
and purge data are presented in Attachment 1. Laboratory data sheets are included in
Attachment 2.
On July 16, 1993 a single hydropunch boring was advanced northwest (the assumed
downgradient direction in the area) of the former tank excavation (Figure 2) under the direction
Of Ms. Diane Hinson of San Joaquin County Public Health Services. The boring was advanced
by hollow-stem auger to approximately 70 feet below grade. The hydropunch tool was then
driven four feet into the saturated zone and a groundwater sample was collected. The sample
was submitted to Zymax Envirotechnology for analysis of TPHO and BTEX by the methods
described above. No analytes were detected. Laboratory results are presented in Table 2.
Laboratory data sheets are included in Attachment 2.
LU72993.FML
