Nor-Cal Beverage Company
Project No. 150045.01
Page 2
Two 4:1 composite samples were also collected on July 16, 1993 from the soil stockpiled from
previous excavation activity. The samples were analyzed by Zymax Envirotechnology for TPHG
and BTEX. No analytes were detected. Soil sample results are presented in Table 3.
Laboratory data sheets are included in Attachment 2.
The concentrations of toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes reported in the most recent groundwater
sample from well MW-1 are three orders of magnitude below Primary Maximum Contaminant
Levels (MCLs) that are derived from health-based criteria, and at least one order of magnitude
below the Secondary (taste and odor considerations) MCLS. No analytes were detected in
groundwater collected from the hydropunch boring located in the assumed downgradient
direction from MW-1. Therefore, it is RESNA's conclusion that there has been no degradation
of groundwater beneath this site and the potential for future degradation by migration through
contaminated soils has been removed. Based on this, RESNA, on behalf of Nor-Cal Beverage
Co., respectfully requests closure of this site and the authority to destroy well N1W-1.
If you have any questions regarding this report, please contact the undersigned at your earliest
convenience.
Respectfully,
RESNA Industries, Inc.
C co
Ky aAAe YK
Marcie R.
