Working To Restore Nature
Nor-Cal Beverage Company
Project No. 150005.01
Page 4
Therefore, it is RESNA's conclusion that the data collected during the well location survey
confirms that the hydropunch sample collected from north-northwest of well MW-1 was
appropriately located in the general downgradient direction of that well.
The concentrations of toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes reported in the most recent groundwater
sample from well MW-1 are three orders of magnitude below Primary Maximum Contaminant
Levels (MCLs) that are derived from health-based criteria, and at least one order of magnitude
below the Secondary (taste and odor considerations) MCLs. No analytes were detected in
groundwater collected from the hydropunch boring located in the general downgradient direction
from MW-1. Therefore, it is RESNA's conclusion that in terms of protection of public health
and water quality, groundwater beneath the site has not been significantly impacted and the
potential for future degradation by migration through contaminated soils has been limited by
earlier soil excavation. Based on this, RESNA, on behalf of Nor-Cal Beverage Co., respectfully
requests closure of this site and the authority to destroy well MW-1.
If you have any questions regarding this report, please contact the undersigned at your earliest
• convenience.
Respectfully,
RESNA Industries, Inc.
Marcie R. McCabe
Staff Geologist
Cc
Russell W.
