KLEINFELDER
1
4 RESULTS OF CHEMICAL ANALYSES
On January 28, 1992, the six soil samples and one ground water sample were hand carried
in an iced cooler under chain-of-custody documentation by the field geologist to
Kleinfelder's Sacramento office. The samples were then transferred under chain-of-
custody to a courier and delivered to Alpha Analytical Laboratory. Copies of the
laboratory analytical report and chain-of-custody are included in Appendix E.
The following samples were submitted for analyses:
' Sample Identification Matrix Borinsi Depth
69576 Soil B-1 20 feet
69577 Soil B-1 25 feet
69580 Soil B-1 40 feet
67083 Soil B-2 25 feet
67084 Soil B-2 30 feet
67086 Soil B-2 40 feet
67088 Water MW-1 69 feet
The soil and water samples were submitted for the following analyses:
► Total petroleum hydrocarbons -- purgeable (Method 5030 using a gasoline
standard);
► Total petroleum hydrocarbons -- extractable (Method 3550/3510 using a
diesel standard);
► Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX) by Method 8020/602.
Table 3 summarizes the analytical results f h
y o the soil and water samples.
Total xylenes were detected at 0.0072 mg/kg in soil sample number 67084 collected at a
depth of 30 feet from B-2. TPH-Diesel was detected at 1.5 mg/kg in sample number 67086
collected at a depth of 40 feet from B-2. No other analytes were detected above laboratory
reporting limits in these two samples or in the remaining samples.
FR1-92-15 Page 11 of 21
Copyright 1992 Kleinfelder, Inc.
