Fremont St. RO#: 00428
Stockton, CA. 95205 CUF#: 14862
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed
Results of Additional Ground Water Investigation and Site Investigation Model
received on Geotracker and has the following comments.
This latest phase of investigation was required by the EHD to further delineate
the lateral extent of the dissolved 1,2-DCA ground water plume that originates
onsite. The findings were to be formatted in the context of a Site Conceptual
Model (SCM) and submitted to the EHD as a condition of the EHD January 17,
2006 work pian approval.
Onsite MW-7 and offsite MW-8 were installed in May and June 2006. Soil
samples from each well's installation were non-detect for LUFT petroleum
constituents. Ground water samples collected on June 8, 2006 and August 15,
2006 were also non-detect for LUFT petroleum constituents.
Onsite monitoring wells MVI!-1 and MW-2 have historically contained 1,2-DCA at
levels that did not qualify this site for no further action. Recent concentrations of
1,2-DCA in these two wells have dropped from historical levels and your
consultant has concluded that the site now qualifies for no further action.
Unfortunately, the latest sampling event held in February 2007 indicate that water
samples from MW-2 still have 1,2-DCA in the ground water. Your request for
"low-risk ground water closure status"is not approved at this time
If 1 ,2-DCA continues to be detected in the water at the site, an additional
investigation will be required to determine the vertical extent of the dissolved
petroleum contamination.
The EHD will continue to monitor the laboratory data for this site and will advise
you when a Request for No Further Action report or a work plan for vertical
delineation should be submitted. Until that time please continue to collect ground
water samples for analyses and to submit quarterly reports to Geotracker.
