Quik Stop Station No 39 February 14 2003
Stockton California Results Report and Work Plan Addendum
•'' Environmental Protection Agency Method 8260B The groundwater sample collected from
soil boring SBI was additionally analyzed for methanol and ethanol by EPA Method 8260B
RESULTS OF ADDITIONAL SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION
The CPT log (Appendix C) indicates that the soil profile to 100 feet bsg is dominated by silt,
clayey silt and clay (including soils logged as stiff fine grained) with minor interbedded
sand The interval from approximately 95 to 100 feet bsg is characterized by interbedded
sand and silt The pore-dissipation test indicated the groundwater level was approximately
61 feet bsg Unsuccessful groundwater sampling attempts indicate that fine-grained soil near
the water table (approximately 46 to 61 feet bsg) in the areas of soil borings SB 1, S132 and
SB3 do not readily allow flow of groundwater
Analytical results of groundwater samples collected via CPTlhydropunch are summarized in
• Table 2 Analytical reports and COC document are contained in Appendix D
Concentrations of TPHg were reported in groundwater samples W-76-80-SB4 and W-56-65-
S135 at 230 micrograms per liter (parts per billion or ppb) and 56 ppb, respectively A
concentration of 0 54 ppb toluene was reported in sample W-96-100-SBI A concentration
of 15 ppb TBA was reported in sample W-56-65-SB5 No other BTEX compounds, fuel
oxygenate compounds, DCA or EDB were reported in the groundwater samples
Results of the CPT investigation indicate that groundwater at the locations of soil borings
I
SBI through S135 is not impacted by DCA Vertical delineation of DCA is confirmed by the
investigation results, specifically by the 94 to 100 feet bsg samples from soil borings SB 1
and SB2 Lateral delineation of DCA is indicated by the shallower groundwater samples
collected from soil borings S134 and S135 The lateral delineation of DCA at the water table
was not confirmed in the area of monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-3
•
C IProjects170391I41WPaddnm2-03 doe
Project No 703914 5 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC
