Quik Stop Station No 039 . October 27, 1999 <br /> Stockton California PSA Work Plan <br /> - (TAME), tertiary butanol (TBA), methanol and ethanol were not detected (except for trace <br /> • concentrations of 0 020 parts per million [ppm] of xylenes and 0 21 ppm of TBA) beneath <br /> the two former USTs The analytical results for the soil samples collected from beneath the <br /> former product dispensers at a depth of approximately 3 feet bsg indicated a concentration of <br /> 440 ppm of TPHg beneath the southern dispenser, trace concentrations of BTEX beneath <br /> both dispensers, and a trace concentration of 0 0055 ppm of MTBE beneath the northern <br /> dispenser No concentrations of other fuel oxygenates were detected in the soil samples <br /> collected from beneath the former product dispensers <br /> Subsequent to the removal of the two USTs, a 2-inch diameter PVC tank observation well <br /> was removed from the southeast corner of the former UST cavity to a depth of 16 feet bsg <br /> SJCPHS-EHD records indicate the tank observation well was installed in 1981 An <br /> unidentified black clay-like substance was noted in the bottom of the casing A sample of <br /> the clay-like substance (MW-SW) was collected for laboratory analysis at the direction of <br /> the SJCPHS-EHD Inspector Mr Michael Infurna Jr As requested by the SJCPHS-EHD, <br /> the unidentified substance from the tank observation well was submitted for "Waste Oil <br /> Protocol' Analytical results for the sample of the unidentified substance indicated that <br /> elevated concentrations of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as motor oil (TPHmo) and Total <br /> Oil and Grease (TOG), and Iow concentrations of TPHg, BTEX and MTBE were detected in <br /> the sample More detailed information on the procedures and analytical results can be found <br /> in the Tank Closure Report (Horizon, February 17, 1999) <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The proposed work is in response to a letter from the SJCPHS-EHD dated September 20, <br /> 1999 The SJCPHS-EHD letter requested that site characterization work be performed to <br /> evaluate concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater beneath the site <br /> Based on the results reported in the previous reports discussed above, the following tasks are <br /> proposed <br /> i <br /> 7039-I2 wp 3 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC <br />
