Quik Stop Station No 039 i October 27, 1999
Stockton California PSA Work Plan
Task I Obtain permits from the SJCPHS-EHD for drilling three borings and
. installing three groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3) at
the proposed locations shown on Figure 2, schedule a drilling subcontractor,
prepare a site-specific health and safety plan, and notify Underground Service
Alert(USA)
Task 2 Drill three borings and install three groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1,
MW-2 and MW-3) to estimated depths of 55 feet bsg at the site During
advancement of the borings, soil samples will be collected and subjectively
analyzed using an organic vapor meter (OVM) at 5-foot depth intervals and
within horizons of obvious petroleum hydrocarbon impact If field evidence
indicates that petroleum hydrocarbons are present below a depth of 55 feet
bsg, then the boring will be continued until two consecutive 5-foot soil
samples do not exhibit evidence of hydrocarbons
. A 2-inch inside diameter (ID) groundwater monitoring well will be
constructed in each of the borings and slotted within the first water-bearing
zone (anticipated approximate screened interval from 35 to 55 feet bsg)
Groundwater is estimated to range between approximately 40 to 50 feet bsg
in the site area A typical monitoring well construction diagram is shown on
Figure 3
Selected soil samples collected from each boring, will be submitted for
laboratory analyses at a State-certified laboratory As required by SJCPHS-
EHD guidelines, the selected soil samples will be analyzed by the laboratory
for the presence of TPHg by modified Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) Method 8015, the volatile aromatic compounds BTEX, and the fuel
oxygenate MTBE by modified EPA Method 8020 The results of the soil
samples collected dunng the tank removal operations indicated that analyses
for the other six oxygenated fuel additive compounds DIPS, ETBE, TAME,
7039-12 wp 4 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL,INC
