Having the opportunity to physically look over
the process and discuss it with my terminal manager, Von
Crites, was a big help, at least for me. I have only been
over-seeing the ST Terminal for five months, and when we
first talked I don' t think I really explained the process
to you accurately. I want to clarify the frequency and use
of this system. Please bear with me if you already know
this.
The 6000 gallon underground tank is used to transfer
water out of only (2) tanks in this terminal . Both these
tanks have floating roofs, which have the potential for
allowing rainwater to enter if there is a bad seal around
the roof. Typically, we check these (2) tanks for water
before the start of the rainy season and after. This is
done using a hand- held tape with a chalking compound that
Will show when water is present . If water is detected, then
we need to remove it by draining it out from the bottom of
the above ground tank, into the existing concrete
containment wells at each of these two tanks . These
"containment" wells have a capacity of 42 gallons if filled
to the top.
When water is detected, it is reported to the terminal
manager. The terminal manager, using trained terminal
operators, will remove the water
72941 Navy Drive
Sr T_ATI Stockton, CA 95206
r,,,,, Phone: 209-943-5662
Fax: 209-943-0653
www.stservices.net
