•
1
The potential generation of dust during site activities will be minimized by the application of
' water to the soil, if necessary. No liquid run-off will be allowed during wetting of the soils. Any
residual soil or dust waste generated during loading of trucks will be immediately mitigated and
' returned to the soil stockpile for reloading.
' After the limits of the excavation have been reached, Del-Tech will fill the excavated area
using imported pea gravel and fill sand, as appropriate to achieve the level of compaction necessary
' to restore the site. During the backfill process, Del-Tech will also make any necessary repairs to
sanitary and/or storm sewer laterals disturbed during the removal of the clarifier. Del-Tech will
obtain any permits necessary for such repairs of sub-grade piping and restoring the concrete floor of
the building.
' Following the completion of excavation, disposal, and backfilling activities, Lee & Pierce
' will prepare a technical report detailing the methods and results of the remedial actions.
' The Health and Safety Plan included in this document has been developed specifically for
activities related to the remediation of soils at the subject site. The plan is based on the
' requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120, "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Responses".
This Health and Safety Plan will remain in force and all contractors will be required to comply
' with its provisions during any site activities involving potential exposure to hazardous
substances. Personnel involved in site activities potentially involving exposure to hazardous
' waste will be required to have completed the 40 hour training specified in 29 CFR 1910.
5.0 REQUIREMENTS
' All work will be conducted under the supervision of John Lane of Lee & Pierce. Mr.
Lane is a registered Professional Geologist (California PG#6795). The work will be conducted
in accordance with this soil removal plan and site safety plan, consistent with standard operating
procedures outlined in Appendix A, and pursuant to accepted practices established by the EHD.
1
SOIL REMOVAL WORKPLAN [04113111] 5 LEE&PIERCE INC.[JOB#107591
