L26 February 2007
AGE-NC Project No. 99-0669
LPage 2 of 4
4 2.2. PROBING AND COLLECTION OF SOIL VAPOR SAMPLES
Based on the estimated vertical and lateral extent of petroleum-impacted soil (Site Conceptual
E Model, dated 29 March 2004),AGE proposes advancement of six soil-gas vapor probe borings to
L evaluate vapor intrusion at the site (Figure 2). Initially, each soil boring will be advanced to
maximum,depths of5bs .However,total depths of borings will be based on field conditions,
j field observations and field screening using an organic vapor monitor(OVM).One soil vapor sample
L will be collected from each boring at a depth of approximately 5 feet bsg. Field procedures for
advancement of borings and collection of soil vapor samples are presented in Section 3.1.
LSoil vapor samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services(DHS)-
certified laboratory for the following constituents:
L • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Methods 5030/8015 Modified;
. • Volatile aromatic compounds (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes: BTEX) in
accordance with EPA Method 8020;
L • Oxygenated compound(methyl tertiary butyl ether:MTBE)in accordance with EPA Method
8020; and ar
L • 1,2-DCA by EPA Methods 8260 Modified
Laboratory reports for soil vapor analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality .y
control(QA/QC)reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report
with findings and recommendations.
2.3. REPORT PREPARATION
LFollowing the completion of the proposed scope of work, a report will be prepared presenting the
findings. The report will include a description of work performed and the results of the soil-vapor
sampling and analysis. Conclusions and recommendations will also be included in the reports, if
applicable.The report will be in a format acceptable to the SJCEHD and the CVRWQCB guidelines,
and will be reviewed and signed by a California Professional Geologist.
L
Advanced GeoEn"ronmeatnl,Ine.
L
L
