r
r20 May 2005
•; AGE-NC Project No. 97-0327
' 3.1. GROUND WATER ELEVATION AND GRADIENT
The depths to ground water in wells MW-1 through MW-4 were measured between 5 9.10 and
' 60.63 feet below the tops of well casings; ground water elevations in wells MW-1 through MW-4
were calculated to be between 33.66 feet (MW-2) and 33.80 feet (MW-4) below mean sea level
(MSL) (Figure 3). Ground water elevation at the site generally increased an average 0.94 feet
between the September 2003 and the January 2004 ground water monitoring events. Ground water
flow direction for the area bound by wells MW-I through MW-4 was inferred as toward the south-
southeast at a gradient of approximately 0.002 ft/ft.
i .
3.2. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF MONITORING WELL WATER SAMPLES
' A total of fourground water samples were submitted to Castle Analytical Laboratory(CAL),a DHS-
certified
H -certified laboratory, for analysis. TPH-g was detected from well MW-2 at a concentration of
57 micrograms per liter(µg/1). TPH-d was detected from wells MW-2 and MW-4 at concentrations
of 55 µg/1 and 65 µg/l, respectively.
Xylene was the only BTEX compound detected from well MW-2 at concentration of 0.73 ltg/l.
Utilizing EPA Method 8260M, MTBE was detected in a sample collected from MW-2 at a
r concentration of 14 pg/l. 1,2-DCA was detected in samples collected from wells MW-1 and MW-4
at.concentrations of 0.65 µg11 and 4.6 µg/1, respectively.
' No other fuel components were detected above the laboratory reporting limits. Analytical results of
the ground water samples are summarized in Tables 3 and 4. The laboratory reports (Castle
Analytical Laborator'y Reference No.65 66)and chain-of-custody forms are presented in Appendix
r B.
'. 3.3. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF DOMESTIC WATER WELL SAMPLES
' Grab water samples was collected from off-site domestic water wells located at 451 and 452 North
Lillian Avenue and submitted to CAL for analysis of TPH-g,TPH-d,BTEX,MTBE,ETBE,TAME,
DIPE, TBA, 1,2-DCA and EDB.
None of the above mentioned constituents of concern were detected -
above the laboratory reporting
limits. Analytical results,of the ground water samples are summarized in Tables 3 and 4. The
' laboratory reports (Castle Analytical Laboratory Reference No. 6597) and chain-of-custody forms
. are presented in Appendix B.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
