' 20 May 2005
• AGE-NC Project No. 97-0327
' 4.4. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
The implications from the January 2004 ground water monitoring event are as follows:
• Ground water flow direction at the site was inferred to be toward the south-southeast at a
gradient of 0.002 ft/ft or less; previous ground water monitoring events at the site have
determined the prevalent ground water flow direction to be towards the south-southeast.
• Due to the low gradient at the site, slight variations in ground water measurements or
changes of recharge/discharge of the local ground water could have modified ground water
flow direction.
• The increase of ground water elevation between September 2003 and January 2004 is
' probably due to seasonal fluctuation.
• The ground water elevation at the site was within the screened intervals of wells MW-1,
' MW-2, MW-3 and MW-4, which should yield samples fully representative of shallow
ground water conditions.
• Low concentrations of dissolved TPH-g and BTEX have previously been and currently
' • detected from well MW-2 indicating that only a minor TPH-g and BTEX-impact to ground
water in the area assessed.
' • Low concentration of dissolved TPH-d have previously been detected from wells MW-1
through MW-4. During this sampling, wells MW-2 and MW-4 indicating that only a minor
TPH-d-impact to ground water in the area assessed. /
• A low concentration of dissolved MTBE continues to be detected in the sample collected
from well MW-2; MTBE was also previously detected from well MW-1 indicating only a
' minor MTBE-impact to ground water in the area assessed.
• Low concentrations of 1,2-DCA continue to be detected in the samples collected from wells
MW-1 and MW-4 indicating a minor impact to ground water in the area assessed.
' • Grab water samples collected from domestic water wells located at 451 and 452 North
Lillian Avenue were non detect for TPH-g, TPH-d, BTEX, MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, TAME,
' TBA 1,2-DCA and EDB.
