11 June 2001
AGE-NC Project No. 97-0327
' during the February 2001 ground water monitoring event.
• The elevated petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations detected in the grab ground water
sample collected from soil boring P-8 on 21 June 1999 suggest that P-8 may be near the
' dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon "core area" of the plume.
' 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
' Based upon data collected from the site in August 2000, AGE recommends:
• Continued quarterly ground water monitoring of wells MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3. The next
' ground water monitoring event is tentatively scheduled for June 2001.
• Submission of one ground water monitoring well sample to a microbiological laboratory for
microbial enumeration and physicochemical analysis to examine natural attenuation of
petroleum hydrocarbons in ground water at the site.
• Installation of one ground water monitoring well downgradient (south-southwest) of soil
boring P-8 to assess the elevated petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations detected in P-8 on
21 June 1999; the well should be installed approximately 60 to 70 feet south of monitoring
well MW-2.
• Preparation of a corrective action plan report to evaluate several remedial alternatives for
petroleum-impact to soil and ground water at the site.
' 6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
' environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory. Evaluations of the geologic/hydrogeologic
conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a lirnited .number of
' available data points (i.e. ground water monitoring wells), and subsurface conditions may vary away
from these data points. No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
recommendations contained in this report.
r
Advanced GcoEnvironmental,Inc.
