Fremont St.
Stockton CA 95205
The above referenced site is on the San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Division's (PHS/EHD) contaminated underground storage tank
site list. Two underground storage tanks were removed in November 1989. Analyses of
soil samples collected beneath the tanks were positive for petroleum hydrocarbons. The
site is currently abandoned and is considered to be recalcitrant. The original owner of
the tanks and the property, Buffalo Tank Corp, declared bankruptcy and was dissolved
as a corporation in 1993. A party interested in buying the property conducted an over-
excavation and soil sampling in June 1993. Analytical results from the collected soil
samples were positive for petroleum hydrocarbons. In 1997 the property went into tax
delinquency and was subsequently sold by the county. The current listed owner of the
site is Valley Properties PTP, but the only address listed at the assessors' office for
Valley Properties PTP is the site address. PHS/EHD correspondences sent by mail to
the new property owner have been returned as undeliverable.
PHS/EHD is referring this site to the Regional Water Quality Control Board for
enforcement action. A chronology of events relating to the site is included. If you have
any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209)468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Lery Cl,trv)nca L
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Margario, Supervising REHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
