(SGI) <br /> presents this Well Destruction Work Plan (Work Plan) to the California Regional Water Quality <br /> ' Board (CRWQCB) for the Buffalo Tank Corporation located at 5709 Highway 26 E, Stockton, <br /> California, referred to as EAR Site No. R10-131 (Appendix A, Site). This Work Plan has been <br /> ' prepared in response to CRWQCB correspondence entitled Request for Well <br /> Decommissionment for Proposed Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) Case Closure, <br /> Buffalo Tank, 5709 East Fremont Street (Hwy 26 E.) Stockton, San Joaquin County, (Regional <br /> ' Board Case #390791), dated June 20, 2011 (Appendix B). The Work Plan details the proposed <br /> scope of work and methodology to destroy all wells associated with the Site. <br /> ' BACKGROUND y <br /> The Site is located in a rural/commercial area of unincorporated San Joaquin County, east of <br /> ' Stockton. According to San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) <br /> records, two underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the property on November <br /> 30, 1989. Tank No. 1, a 1,000-gallon unleaded gasoline UST, and Tank No. 2, a 2,000-gallon <br /> ' leaded gasoline UST, were located in a common excavation east of the former office building. <br /> Historical investigation activities have identified the presence of total petroleum hydrocarbons as 1 <br /> ' gasoline (TPHg), total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd), and benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX compounds) in soil and groundwater. , <br /> t A total of three monitoring wells are located on-Site as shown on Figure 2 of Appendix A. All <br /> points were installed in 2005 to allow monitoring of groundwater beneath the Site. Copies of the <br /> documented well completion logs for each well are included in Appendix C. A summary of well <br /> ' construction details is provided on Table 1. <br /> ' SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The scope of work will include the destruction of three monitoring wells utilizing the pressure <br /> grouting methodology as required by the SJCEHD.
