Groundwater in the area has been impacted by Oxychem. <br /> • The Lika Corporation is located approximately one half mile northwest of the <br /> subject site. Copper, lead, and nickel contamination has been discovered and <br /> removed from the soil on the Lika property and may have affected the groundwater. <br /> Lika is upgradient from the subject site. <br /> • The subject site has been used as agricultural land in the past. Various pesticides <br /> may have been applied to the site during this time. <br /> On September 3, 1998, Mr. Kevin Carson of Crosswind Community Builders, authorized Krazan to <br /> proceed with a subsurface assessment workplan. Issues pertinent to the PHS-EHD permit application are <br /> listed below. <br /> • The property is owned by San Joaquin Valley Associates, 2140 Professional <br /> Drive, Suite 200, Roseville, California 95061. The telephone number is (916) <br /> 772-2140. San Joaquin Valley Associates has entered into an agreement granting <br /> permission to Krazan to carry out the assessment. San Joaquin Valley Associates <br /> will be responsible for the initial assessment fee. <br /> • The project manager for this investigation will be Mr. Ronald Holcomb, RG No. <br /> 6725. <br /> • The project site has no address assigned to it at this time. The Assessor Parcel <br /> Numbers are 163-06-20 and 163-06-18. The project site is located in Sections 15 <br /> and 22, Township I North, Range 6 east of the Mount Diablo Baseline and <br /> Meridian. <br /> • Site location and approximate proposed boring locations are shown on attached <br /> maps. <br /> • Kleinfelder's June 23, 1998 report states that groundwater is approximately 12 <br /> feet below ground surface and flows to the southeast. <br /> • Krazan has the appropriate proof of valid workman's compensation insurance on <br /> file with the PHS-EHD. <br /> Purpose of Assessment <br /> The purpose of the assessment is to evaluate the impact (or lack thereof) of the above listed <br /> environmental concerns on the soil and groundwater at selected locations on the subject site. <br /> KRAZAN&ASSOCIATES, INC. <br /> Offices Serving the Western United States <br /> 03498179.LT1 <br />
