Project No. 034-98179
Page No. 3
Scope of the Assessment
• The appropriate permits would be obtained from the PHS-EHD.
• On the eastern portion of the subject site four soil borings would be advanced with
a direct-push rig to approximately 15 to 20 feet bgs. Three of the borings will be
drilled along and to the east of the JP-4 pipeline. The fourth boring will be drilled
in the southeastern portion of the property.
• Soil samples will be obtained at fifteen feet bgs in each boring.
• One groundwater sample will be obtained from each of the two northernmost
borings.
• One soil sample from each of the four borings on the eastern portion of the subject
property will be submitted for analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons as jet fuel
(TPH-J) by EPA Method 8015M and benzene, toluene, ethybenzene, and xylenes
(BTEX)by EPA Method 8020.
• The groundwater sample from the northernmost boring on the vm-stem portion of
the subject property will be analyzed for copper, lead and nickel. The
groundwater samples from the two northernmost borings will be analyzed for total
petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline(TPH-G)by EPA Method 8015M and BTEX.
• Three soil borings will be advanced in the western portion of the subject property.
One boring will be drilled immediately south of the Barnes Trucking Yard and
the two borings will be drilled along the western boundary of the subject property
southeast of the PureGro facility. A groundwater sample will be obtained from
each boring.
• The groundwater sample from the boring advanced south of Barnes Trucking will
be analyzed for BTEX and TPH-G. Groundwater samples from the borings
advanced along the western property boundary will be analyzed for agricultural
chemicals including carbamates and organophosphates.
• Two soil samples will be obtained from six to twelve inches bgs on the subject
property to be analyzed for agricultural chemicals.
• Sampling will be conducted in accordance with the guidelines published by the
Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB). Analytical results will be
tabulated.
• Soil sampling will be conducted by means of a drive sampler containing 1-inch
diameter brass or acetate sleeves.
• Groundwater sampling will be conducted by lowering a disposable polyethylene
bailer into the boring and decanting the water into laboratory-cleaned sample
containers.
KRAZAN&ASSOCIATES, INC.
Offices Serving the Western United States
03498179.LT1
