I support the work plan as documented in the plan and in your accompanying 20 April
1994 letter, with the exception of three items:
1) Page 2 of the work plan, Item 6. —The last phrase of the last sentence should be deleted.
Whenever packing material is tremmied with introduced water, that water should be
sampled. It is impossible to know whether the source of the water is clean without sampling
and analysis. Analytical protocols for this water should follow those outlined in your
submittal.
2) Page 3 of the work plan, Well Survey—The elevation ("z" coordinate) of the casing should
be surveyed to the nearest 0.01 foot, rather than 0.1 foot. Standard Provisions and Reporting
Requirements, adopted by the Regional Water Board in September 1993 requires ground
water table elevations to be measured to the nearest 0.01 foot.
3) Page 4 of the work plan, Water Level Measurements, Item 4. —As stated in the above
comment, water level measurements should be made to the nearest 0.01 foot.
Please call me at (916) 255-3123 to discuss these matters further.
JON B.
