N
Lori Duncan [EH]
From : Lori Duncan [EH]
Sent: Wednesday, February 09, 2011 2:06 PM
To: 'ojacobs@cleanvatergroup.com'
Subject: RE : Barnes Trucking Project; Extraction wells - question about any water district fees
I 'm not directing it, its not my part of the project. Work done for the injection permit has to be approved by the RB .
It was just a suggestion , based on the decisions I observed them make on the other project. Since you are not
proposing to discretely screen the wells, and they are only 5 feet deeper than the existing ones , most of
the proposed screen area (10-30) is covered by the existing wells.
From : ojacobs@clearwatergroup.com [mailto :ojacobs@cleanvatergroup.com]
Sent: Wednesday, February 09, 201112 : 57 PM
To: Lori Duncan [EH]; Randy Kirby; Jim Jacobs
Subject: Re: Barnes Trucking Project; Extraction wells - question about any water district fees
The 25-35 foot zone appears, on site, to contain the highest contamination . Existing wells, across
the street, are screened above that zone.
We defer to your agency's decision on this point and can use MW-7 and MW-8 for compliance
zone wells, as you direct.
Please consider the downgradient residential area and the fact that lateral extent at MW-7 and 8
has not been identified.
We are keenly aware of the limited resource as the injection/dewatering costs are large. However,
the objective is to attain low enough levels to close the site during this year.
ent€rorrrMy-VerizonNircless-BlaekBerry
From: "Lori Duncan [EH] " <lduncan@sjcehd. com>
Date: Wed, 9 Feb 2011 12 :20 :20 -0800
To: <cjacobs@clearwatergroup.com>
Subject: RE : Barnes Trucking Project; Extraction wells - question about any water district fees
When you request approval from the regional board to put the 'transition' wells onsite , why dont you ask to
use MW-7 and MW-8 as observation wells? It seems a waste of money to install new wells right next to
them with practically the same screen interval. Waste of money. And time. I have another site in town that
the regional board agreed to let the site use the monitoring wells of another site across the street as their
'transition' wells, and then before they were ever sampled after the injection, agreed to a request from the
consultant that they did not even need to be sampled .
Permits are issued per parcel of land , per C-57. So , unless you are using different drilling companies, you
only need one permit for the onsite work, with the appropriate fees .
Lori Duncan, Senior RENS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
Iduncan(o cehd .com
2/9/2011
