i
I
Lori Duncan [EH]
From : Lori Duncan [EH]
Sent: Tuesday, September 29, 2009 4: 19 PM
To: 'Gavin Fisco'
Subject: RE: 1817 South Fresno Ave. , Stockton - Sampling Confirmation
Gavin ,
I 'm not sure what 'back and forth' you are referring to in regards to analysis for lead scavengers and fuel
oxygenates.
In correspondence dated December 23, 2008 the EHD directed all water samples to be analyzed for TPHg,
benzene, toluene , ethylbenzene and xylenes; and that wells MW-5B and MW7 also be analyzed for fuel
oxygenates and lead scavengers. (I think this was a typo actually) it should have been MW-8, not 7 ).
In correspondence dated February 17, 2009, in response to Clearwaters recommendation to add the remediation
wells to the sampling regimen , the EHD approved adding SVE-1 (now DPE-1 ) and AS-1 to the sampling
regimen with the condition that they were analyzed for all plus fuel oxygenates and lead scavengers, until
contaminant trends are established .
The sampling frequency of the wells was later reduced , the listed analytes was not changed .
However, looking at the sample results table from the most recent monitoring report, it appears only the lead
scavenger analysis was dropped .
The history on the lack of detection of fuel oxygenates and lead scavengers in the wells it was dropped from is
strong . I don 't see any support for doing it again, but its up to you .
Lori
From : Gavin Fisco [mailto: GFisco@clearwatergroup.com]
Sent: Tuesday, September 29, 2009 10 : 34 AM
To: Lori Duncan [EH]
Cc: Olivia Jacobs; Arron Wilder
Subject: 1817 South Fresno Ave., Stockton - Sampling Confirmation
Greetings Lori,
I wanted to confirm that we will be sampling all of the monitoring wells on site as well as SVE- 1 ,
AS- 1 and IW-3 as part of the rebound sampling. I also wanted to confirm that we are going to be
analyzing for all of the COCs in all wells since there has been some back and forth in regards to
sampling for the lead scavengers and 5 fuel oxygenates.
We are planning on sampling wells MW- 1 through MW-4, MW-5B through MW-8, SVE- 1 , AS.
1 , and IW-3 for TPH-g, BTEX, 5 fuel oxygenates, and the lead scavengers.
Please confirm that this is correct.
Thanks,
Gavin P . Fisco
10/1 /2009
