These wells were installed to conduct remedial <br /> feasibility testing , and are located near the core of the groundwater plume. <br /> The EHD previously approved the installation of the additional groundwater monitoring well and <br /> the changes to the sampling regimen . In the correspondence Clearwater states that the boring <br /> for the well will not be installed past the upper silty clay unit to extend into the upper sand . The <br /> EHD recommends that the well should be built to extend into the sand unit as it commonly <br /> occurs across the site at approximately 25 feet below surface grade (bsg ) and is intercepted by <br /> the screened intervals of impacted wells MW-513, MW-7 and MW-8 . If present at the proposed <br /> monitoring well location , the sand unit is the likely lateral contaminant migration pathway . <br /> The EHD approves adding the remediation wells to the sampling routine but conditions that, <br /> until trends are established , analyses for these well should include total petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> as gasoline, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene , xylenes , five fuel oxygenates , 1 ,2-dichloroethane <br /> and ethylene dibromide . <br /> If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337 . <br /> Sincerely, <br /> f)�er>ta. x �s LUv <br /> Lori Duncan , Senior REHS Nuel C.
