CLEARWATER <br /> G R b U P [ N C <br /> Ent,romnerrt;f 5 r fres <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report has been prepared by Clearwater Group (Clearwater), on behalf of Mr Floyd Barnes <br /> of Barnes Trucking The subject facility is located at 1817 South Fresno Avenue in Stockton, <br /> California In a letter dated June 25, 1999, the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, <br /> Environmental Health Division (EHD) indicated that additional investigation of this site was <br /> required to further delineate the vertical and horizontal extent of sorbed-phase and dissolved-phase <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons Clearwater prepared a Workplan for Site Investigation dated September <br /> 30, 1999, and a Workplan Addendum dated November 9, 1999, detailing the proposed installation <br /> of three additional groundwater monitoring wells, destruction of one monitoring well, the <br /> advancement of three soil borings with the collection of groundwater samples, and one <br /> hydropunch with the collection of a discrete groundwater sample collected at 36 feet bgs EHD <br /> approved the workplan and addendum in November 1999 <br /> 2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> 2.1 Site Description <br /> The Barnes Trucking Facility is located adjacent to the southwest corner of the intersection of <br /> Charter Way (State Highway 4) and South Fresno Avenue (Figure 1) The property is located <br /> approximately 15 miles south of the Port of Stockton Turning Basin and 0 9 mile east of the San <br /> Joaquin River (Figure 2) Currently, the site is used as a truck dispatch center and parking area <br /> There are no fuel dispensing facilities stored or operating at the site <br /> 2.2 Site History <br /> In letters dated September 18, 1992 and April 30, 1996, the EHD indicated that additional <br /> investigation of this site was required because petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in soil <br /> samples collected from an underground storage tank (UST) excavation According to an April 30, <br /> 1996 EHD letter, two USTs were removed from the site on June 15, 1992 Both UST's were <br /> 10,000-gallon capacity tanks that had been used to store diesel fuel Four soil samples were <br /> collected from the bottom of the excavation at a depth of approximately 16 feet below ground <br /> surface (bgs) Soil samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) as <br /> diesel fuel (TPHd), as kerosene (TPHk), and as motor oil (TPHmo) Samples were also analyzed <br /> . for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) The highest concentrations of TPHg, <br /> ZB 178C 1 3131100 <br />
