(AGE) at
the EHD office to review the status of the 308 North Grant Street site in Stockton, CA and
discuss advancing additional cone penetrometer testing (CPT)borings to assess the vertical and
lateral extents of the not-them and southern contaminant plumes identified at this site. AGE
indicated agreement that a total of six additional CPT-paired soil borings would be advanced to a
total depth of approximately 225 feet below surface grade(bsg),if possible,to delineate the
vertical and lateral extent of contaminants at this site.
Over a year has elapsed and EHD has not yet received the proposed work plan for the six
additional CPT borings; nor has EHD received the well survey report due to this office on
May 23,2003. You are directed to submit a work plan to EHD by October 8,2004, for the
previously directed additional site investigation prepared in the context of the submitted site
cinceptual model. EHD also directs you to submit the well survey report with the work plan.
This site is of major concern due to the high concentrations of 1, 2-dichloroethane,methyl
tertiary-butyl ether, and other petroleum hydrocarbons found during the quarterly groundwater-
monitoring events. EHD believes it is imperative at this time to move your site toward
remediation; therefore, please prepare and submit an interim corrective action plan to EHD by
October 28,2004.
Please continue the quarterly groundwater monitoring and submit the reports to EHD within
thirty days of each monitoring event. If you have any questions, please contact Vicki McCartney
at(209)468-3456 or by electronic mail at vmccartney®sjcehd.com.
Donna Heran,REHS,Director
Environmental
//Health Department
gon
Vicki McCartney,REHS Nuel C.Hen,Jr.,RG
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV LOP/Site Unit IV
c: Daniel W.
