Soil samples will be placed in mason jars to approximately
50% capacity, shaken, and let stand for 15 minutes. At this time, a
standard head space reading will be collected;
6. o Soil samples for analysis will be collected in brass tubes and sealed with
end caps having a teflon liner separating the soil from the caps. The
sealed tubes will be placed in a cooler with blue ice and transported to a
California certified laboratory under Chain of Custody procedures on a daily
basis;
Analysis will be run on selected soil samples for all constituents using EPA
methods0 end 8015 modified;  (r _ ;, t ,  (
V J
L o Preparation of a written report summarizing the lateral and vertical extent
of contamination, type and concentration, and source of the contamination.
1.3 SCHEDULE
Thorne Environmental anticipates beginning work described in this work plan within one
week upon approval by the SJHD. The soil borings should be completed within one and
a half weeks of mobilization to the site. This time estimate is dependent upon the
exact number of borings required, the availability of a qualified drilling rig, the
occurrence of good weather, and other factors including client needs and site specific
conditions. Upon completion of boring advancement, a written report will be submitted
to De Rollo Mazda. The written report will include;
o Description of area geology; C
` o Site plan showing locations of borings; 1
o Copy of boring logs;
o Summaries of laboratory analysis;
O Copies of laboratory results;
o Interpretation of data regarding vertical and lateral extent of contamination,
concentration of contaminations as well as the source of the contamination;
o Recommendations regarding contaminated remediation or disposal.
2.0 BACKGROUND
De Rollo Mazda's former facility is located at Grant and Miner Avenues in the City of
Stockton, San Joaquin County, California, as shown on Figure 1.
2
