(AGE)has prepared this
work plan to install additional ground water monitoring wells at and in the vicinity of 308 Nort ,
Grant Street, Stockton, California; the work plan was prepared in accordance with Califotnia 4
Regional Water Quality Control Board guidelines. In letters dated 27 December 200 ; the San v V✓
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD)requested the preparatio a work plan
for the installation of additional ground water monitoring wells to define theyt1ration of ground
water impacted by high concentrations of methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE), 1,2-dichloroethane
and other petroleum hydrocarbon compounds. The purpose of this work plan is to aide in defining
the lateral and the localized vertical extent of dissolved hydrocarbons in the ground water at the site.
The dominant grogwater flow direction has been east and sampling conducted upgradient has
defined the dissolved plume west and north of the site.
Currently a network of closely-spaced shallow and intermediately screen4ells are installed at the
northwest corner of the site, coinciding with the former underground storage tank(UST) Tank A
location.Additionally, two wells are located at the southern edge ofthe site, one well installed within
the former UST Tank B and C area. Additional wells are justified and necessary east of the current
well network to define the down gradient extent of dissolved hydrocarbons. The northern UST area
is surrounded by low warehouse buildings, therefore, limited access is available and the depth of
monitoring wells proposed will be hindered by drill rigs available for these well installations.
Therefore, AGE proposes the installation of monitoring wells in the following configurations:
• Installation of one shallow monitoring well(Hydrogeologic unit 1 at 30-50 feet bsg),east of
the former UST#1 location, within the auto repair bay.
837 Shaw Road, Stockton,California 95215
Telephone(209)467-1006 Fax(209)467-1118
