■
WaterWork
Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plan
The purpose of this plan is to describe field and laboratory
quality control procedures that will be followed throughout this
investigation. The quality assurance objective for this
investigation is to provide representative data that are known to
be of acceptable quality and statistically sound. The following
field and laboratory procedures will be implemented to ensure
that this objective is met.
1. Field Equipment Calibration
To ensure instrument reliability and consistency, the pH
meter, electrical conductivity, temperature the
and
electric water level meter will be calibrated prior to each
use daily. Calibration results and instrument repairs will
be recorded in a field notebook.
All, equipment will be checked daily and replaced if necessary
by a designated member of the field crew. Instrument
manuals, including calibration and repair information, will
accompany each instrument into the field.
2. Field Quality Control Samples
To ensure the quality" q ty of data collected, ,duplicates of ZO$ of
soil and water samples will analyzed by a state certified
laboratory. One travel blank will be provided with every
shipment of groundwater samplias to the analytical laboratory.
To ensure uniform treatmerit of alli samples submitted, the
identity of the field quality control samples } will be
unknown by the laboratory,
3- Travel Blanks
When sampling groundwater, travel blanks will be used to
detect the introduction of contaminants during transportation
x from the fieic3,_to . the laboratory. - .The travel blanks .will be
provided by Sequoia Analytical. They will be taken to the
field and accompany the collected groundwater samples to the
¢ laboratory . for analysis. The blanks will consist of de-
ionized water . and analytically confirmed organic-free water.
The blank is numbered, packaged, and sealed in the same
manner as the other samples.
,a
