' Soil Vapor Extraction Pilot Test Report <br /> • LARRY'S AUTO <br />' 308 North Grant Street, Stockton, California <br />' lA. INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request ofAMr Skobrak of Larry's Auto,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE)has <br />' prepared this report for the property located at 308 North Grant Street, Stockton, California The <br /> report documents the procedures and results of an 8-hour soil vapor extraction(SVE)pilot test at the <br /> site The site and the surrounding area are illustrated in Figure 1 On-site structures and well <br />' locations are illustrated on Figure 2 Background information and results of previous investigations <br /> at the site can be found in the AGE-prepared document, Quarterly Report- Fourth Quarter 2005, <br />' dated 15 February 2006 <br /> All field work procedures and reporting requirements are in accordance with guidelines issued by <br />' the Central Valley Region of the Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for <br /> subsurface investigation of underground storage tank(UST) system sites and Soil Vapor Extraction <br /> Pilot Test dated 10 November 2005 and approved by the San Joaquin County - Environmental <br />' Health Department letter dated 27 December 2005 <br /> Ile 2.0. PROCEDURES <br /> On 17 January 2006, an 8-hour SVE pilot test was conducted at the site using vapor wells VW-5A <br /> and VW-513, respectively, as the extraction wells for two four-hour stages of the pilot test Vapor Y4 64 <br /> well VW-5 was drilled at an angle of 10° from vertical directed N 80' W, with a horizontal run of & <br /> 9 7 feet, and was triple-completed as a vapor extraction remediation well VW_!� is screened from <br /> 13 feet below surface grade (bsg)to 23 feet bsg,V W%from 26 5 to 41 5 feet bsg,and VW-5C from <br /> 45 to 55 feet bsg(Figure 3) The first four hours(phase I)of the pilot test utilized shallowly screened <br /> VW-5A, the second four hours (phase II) utilized the deeper-screened VW-5B, VW-5C was not <br /> utilized as it is screened completely below the water table J <br /> The pilot test was performed to provide SVE data prior to installation of a full scale remediation <br />' system The test was conducted using a VACLEEN 1000 SVE system, manufactured by <br /> Environmental Techniques The VACLEEN unit consists of a positive-displacement blower,driven <br /> by an internal combustion(IC) engine Propane was used as a supplemental fuel source to start the <br /> tengine and maintain performance Hydrocarbon vapor was destroyed as part of the internal <br /> combustion process Emissions from'the engine were routed through two catalytic converters to <br />' maximize the destruction rate of the extracted hydrocarbon vapors <br /> 1 <br />' Advanced GeoEnvironmcntal,Inc <br /> r <br />
