14 April 2006
AGE-NC Project No 95-0184
t3.0 FINDINGS
Analytical results of soil gas/vapor samples and pilot test results are based on field data collected on
17 January 2006
' 3 1 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL GAS SAMPLES
Phase I AA D
11 ,
TPH-g was detected t e influent soil gas/vapor samples(vapor samples)at concentrations ranging
from 13,000 µg/1 to?7, 00 µg/1 Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes were detected in
' the gas/vapor samples at concentrations as high as 13 µg/1 benzene (SVE-2), 200 gg/l toluene
(SVE-1), 300 gg/l ethylbenzene (SVE-2) and 1,560 gg/l total xylenes (SVE-2) No other analytes
were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the gas/vapor samples Analytical results of
' the gas/vapor samples are included in Table 2 Laboratory data for the soil gas/vapor data is included
in Appendix A
' . Phase II
TPH-g was detected in the mrfluent soil gas/vapor samples(vapor samples)at concentrations ranging
from 12,000 µg/l to 57,000 gg/l Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes were detected in
the gas/vapor samples at concentrations as high as 280 µg/l benzene, 3,500 µg/1 toluene, 600 gg/l
' ethylbenzene and 2,570 gg/l total xylenes (SVE-5) No other analytes were detected at or above
laboratory reporting limits in the gas/vapor samples Analytical results of the gas/vapor samples are
included in Table 2 Laboratory data for the soil gas/vapor data is included in Appendix A
' GeoTracker Confirmation are presented in Appendix B
' 32 ,RESULTS OF SVE PILOT TEST
The SVE unit was operated at approximately 2,000 RPMs for the eight-hour test The flow rate was
' measured between 40 cfm (standard cubic feet per minute) and 90 scfm for phase I of the test;and
between 35 cfm and 50 cfm for phase II of the test-OV readings ranged from 306 to 772 parts per
million volume (ppmv) Induced vacuum measured at the extraction well during phase I (VW-5A)
' ranged from 42 to 86 inches of water, during phase II(VW-5B) they ranged from 58 to 100 inches
of water
IAs expected, the greatest vacuum was measured in the observation point nearest the extraction well
• (VW-5A or VW-5B, followed by VW-2A) The lowest vacuum was measured in VW-3,
Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc
