I 3
Ij
is 1
Field Report
Groundwater Sampling
Grantline Plaza
Tracy, California
On March; 8, 1991, ROY F. WESTON, INC. (WESTON) conducted a groundwater
sampling program:,at the Grantfine Plaza site at 350 West Grantline Road 'in Tracy,
California..I The field work was conducted in an effort to determine if petroleum
compounds were present in the groundwater at the site.
i
i! I
Water samples were taken from the three monitoring wells located on the site. The wells
are idantifed as MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3 and the water samples collected were nan.id
after the walls from! which they were taken.
Prior to purging each well, measurements of total well depth and depth to water were
taken. From these measurements, the standing water volume within the well casing was
calculated.. A submersible pump was used to purge each four inch well of at least three
well volumes. Physical parameters of pH, electrical conductivity, and temperature were
collected from the purge water. This information is presente.d in Table A-2. A clear teflon
bailer was'then used to collect the water samples.
TABLE A-2
Field Water Ouality Measurements
Eric! of Purge Values
March 8, 1991
Well/Sample pH Temperature Conductivity
(°F) (umhos)
MwI i 7.8 65.2 2270
MW-2 7.8 62.7 2040
MW-3 7.57 65.5 2660
The bailer used to sample each well was attached to new thin nylon line and lowered into
the well by hand. The bailer was filled and brought to the surface. The water in the
bailer was carefully;poured into laboratory prepared 40 milliliter glass bottles (VOAs) and
A _ 6
I
i
P
