This letter summarizes and rebuts comments included in the letter. Specific <br /> comments are included in the same format as the aforementioned letter. <br /> GENERAL CONIMENTS <br /> i <br /> First Bullet Item <br /> The remedial options and final: remedial plan were previously presented in the Problem <br /> Assessment Report by Alton Geoscience dated September 30, 1991. <br /> Second Bullet Item <br /> The: report presents a summary of site conditions as described in previous reports produced by <br /> Alton Geoscience. The discussions.presented in the health risk assessment document were <br /> summaries of information presented in previous documents and no new conclusions were <br /> included .in the document. ' Therefore, with respect to the credentials of the signees, the <br /> - credentials of the signees are included in the original copies of the site assessment reports <br /> submitted to the Regional Water Quality Control Board and the San Joaquin County Public <br />'I Health Services. <br /> Third Bullet Item <br /> Previous investigations and sampling activities indicate that the adsorbed-phase hydrocarbons in. <br /> the unsaturated zone extended to the capillary fringe and top of the ground water tabe which <br /> is approximately 10 feet below grade as determined during the various sampling activities. Ms. <br /> Bice's comment that a "significant layer of gasoline and diesel is still present under much of the <br /> site below a depth of 10jeet" is;inaccurate and has no factual basis.
