n
KEI-P88-0810
-„September 15, 1988
Page 3
5. samples will be collected with a California modified
split-spoon---sampler with 2”- -by 4" brass liners: _- . The
samples wi-I-I be advanced ahead of the drilling augers
_--
at- designated depths by dropping a 140 pound hammer 30
inches. -Blow counts will be . recorded. The samples
will be removed from the sampler, retained in the. brass
liners, and will be sealed with aluminum foil, plastic
caps and tape, and will be- labeled and stored on ice
for delivery to a state certified laboratory.
6. Finalized- boring logs will be prepared from field logs
and will. be submitted to_ . the San Joaquin County
Department of Health and the to Regional water Quality
Control Board (RWQCB) .
7. After groundwater -has been intercepted, drilling will
be-terminated. One water sample will be collected. from ,
each. boring with a clean Teflon bailer. The samples
} - - will be decanted into ciean .VOA vials .with Teflon-lined
screw caps . and will be labeled and stored on ice for
delivery to' a state certified laboratory for analyses.
8. After sampling is complete, the boreholes will be
backfilled to the surface with a cement-sand slurry.
' IV. RESULTS
Laboratory Analyses-:
1. Either Sequoia Analytical -Laboratory of. Redwood City or
Mobile Chem-Labs of San Carlos,. -both state certified,
will be used.
2. Soil and ,water samples will be analyzed for .total
petroleum hydrocarbon--.(TPH) as gasoline and as diesel,
benzene toluene xylene and' eth lbenzene
, Y - y (BTX,,) using.
EPA methods 5:030, 501-0, 801.5, 8020 or 602 .
3 . Analytical -results will be presented in tabular form,
showing sample location and depth, analytical results
and detection limits.
B. Interpretation ofResults:
The analytical results will be used .to -generally delineate
the vertical and- lateral extent of any possible contaminants
in the soil and groundwater. A cross sectional profile-will
be constructed showing the subsurface soils, groundwater
depth and known extent of contaminants.
_ f
