ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE
Pre-Field Mobilization 15 working days Complete By Nov 1, 2005
Field Activities 1 working day Complete By Nov 15, 2005
Letter of Completion 7 working days Complete by Nov 30, 2005
CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES AND ASSUMPTIONS
• It is assumed that this scope of work will be adequate for regulatory submittal
and approval. If an additional work plan is required, additional costs will be
incurred.
• Adequate work space and access will be provided.
• The proposed scope of work and cost estimate are based on four tasks
described in this document. If additional work is requested, additional cost will be
incurred.
• The client should be aware that subsurface activities are inherently risky. It is
impossible to determine with certainty the precise location of all structures (such
as septic system tanks, leach fields or irrigation lines), which may be buried in
the ground. Kleinfelder's fee is not adequate to compensate for both the
performance of the services and the assumption of risk of damage to such
structures. Disruption of utilities or damage to underground structures will not be
the responsibility of Kleinfelder. Services rendered by Kleinfelder to repair them
will be billed at cost.
LIMITATIONS
Kleinfelder offers various levels of investigative and engineering services to suit the
varying needs of different clients. Although risk can never be eliminated, more detailed
and extensive investigations yield more information, which may help understand and
manage the level of risk. Since detailed investigation and analysis involves greater
expense, our clients participate in determining levels of service which provide adequate
information for their purposes at acceptable levels of risk. Acceptance of this proposal
will indicate Department of General Services has reviewed the scope of work and
determined that they do not need or want a greater level of service than will be
provided. Any exceptions should be noted and may result in higher fees.
Regulations and professional standards applicable to Kleinfelder's services are
continually evolving. Techniques are, by necessity, often new and relatively untried.
Different professionals may reasonably adopt different approaches to similar problems.
Therefore, no warranty or guarantee, expressed or implied, will be included in
Kleinfelder's scope of service.
02301 PROP/SAC5P435 Page 4 of 5 September 30, 2005
