Page 1
RESD Contract No.3014214
SITE-SPECIFIC HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN
This Site Specific Health and Safety Plan (SHSP) provides information unique to the California
Department of General Services Real Estate Services Division (RESD) site investigation and remediation
design (SURD) Project site being investigated. The SHSP is intended to provide an overview of the
potential hazards that could be encountered at the work site and to identify the specific measures
necessary to control exposure to these hazards. The site-specific information provided in the SHSP
includes a Project site description, work tasks and objectives, field personnel and their responsibilities,
work task hazard assessment (i.e., chemical and physical hazards), site control measures, personal
protective equipment (PPE) and safety/emergency equipment, emergency contacts and hospital location
map. Supporting the SHSP is the accompanying Project Health and Safety Plan (HSP). The HSP,
included as Appendix A to this SHSP, provides detailed.information on the chemical and physical
hazards, control measures, PPE, and emergency response procedures that may apply to any one of the 12
proposed Project sites. Consequently, personnel are to review the SHSP to identify those hazards and
controls that are appropriate for the site, and to consult the HSP for a more detailed description of the
hazards, and appropriate control measures and PPE.
Items marked with '8 CCR §5192..." (Title 8 California Code of Regulations [8 CCR], Department of
Industrial Relations,Division of Industrial Safety [Cal/OSHA] General Safety Orders for hazardous waste
operations and emergency response) are required by Cal/OSHA in the paragraph noted.
G
i
I
i
1
MSW-1:114214102_Tracylhasp.doc
