tot
KLEINFELDER
An employee owned company
November 18, 2004
File No. 49014.1
Mr. A.K. Jain
Department of General Services
RESD/PSB/Seismic & Special Programs
707 3rd Street, Suit 4-430
West Sacramento, CA 95605
Subject: Sensitive Receptor Survey Report
1,► California Highway Patrol—Tracy
385 Grantline Road
Tracy, California 95376
Dear Mr. Jain:
Attached is Kleinfelder's report describing the findings of a Sensitive Receptor Survey
performed for the California Highway.Patrol (CHP) facility located on the northeast corner of
Buthmann Avenue and Grantline Road (385 West Grantline Road) in Tracy California. The
work was performed as outlined in Kleinfelder's Proposal & Cost Estimate for Additional Site
Investigation, dated July 26, 2004.
BACKGROUND
An investigation of the soil near a single wall fiberglass underground storage tank (UST) was
performed as a part of 1998 UST upgrade requirements. Impacted soil was found to exist in the
immediate vicinity of the UST. The tank was removed in May 2000, and three monitoring wells
(MW-1 through MW-3) were installed in June 2000. A fourth, deep monitoring well (MW-4)
was installed in April 2004. On July 19, 2004 the San Joaquin County Department of Health and
Human Services Division of Environmental Health issued a letter reviewing the "Report of
Monitoring Well Installation (MW-4) and Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling",
dated May 26, 2004. In a letter dated July 19, 2004, San Joaquin County requested the following
actions:
• Performa groundwater sampling of the existing monitoring well network.
• Conduct a sensitive receptor survey within a 2,000-foot radius of the site.
• Conduct a survey of the "x", "y" and "z" coordinates of the top of casing for the four
monitoring wells in accordance with the State Water Resources Control Board UST
- Program—AB2886 (Electronic Reporting)regulations.
• Electronically submit well survey data along with analytical data from soil and water
samples collected from the site through Geotracker to the State Water Resources Control
Board.
This report has been prepared in response to the request to conduct a sensitive receptor survey
within a 2,000-foot radius of the site.
f
49014.1/5T04R1525 November 18,2004
Copyright 2004 Kleinfelder,Inc.
