within the 2,000-foot radius of the subject site, six being sensitive land use areas (two schools,
two assisted living areas and two parks). Eleven potential wells were identified within the 2,000
foot radius area based on research records and discussions with outside agencies. However, one
of these wells (2S5E-21D, Ball Park Well)was reportedly abandoned(destroyed). A second well
(02505E16N, GWE-1) was found to be an extraction well for remedial purposes (gas station).
This site also appeared to have a network of about 15 monitoring wells. Three other DWR wells
were also identified as monitoring wells (Bill Jordon site). Not including these or other
monitoring wells, there appears to be six other wells in the 2,000-foot radius, two of which are
domestic, two irrigation, one municipal and one unknown type well. The closest irrigation well
appears to be approximately 100 feet north of the site and the closest domestic well appears to be
approximately 1,200 feet east/northeast of the site. The closest municipal well is approximately
800 feet southwest of the site. The second domestic well is shown about 1,700 feet east of the
' site, but the well description at this location was very vague and even the street location is
questionable. These six well descriptions have been bolded on Plate 2. Kleinfelder also noted
several monitoring wells at two service stations located approximately 1,400 feet east-southeast
of the site. No surface water bodies were noted during this sensitive receptor survey.
Please note that most well locations have been mapped based on DWR records, which often are
not very specific, so these locations should be considered approximate. The physical 500-foot
' well search or drive by site reconnaissance for sensitive receptors may have missed DWR wells
and others as mapped on Plate 2 since visual observation often has to be conducted from a
distance. Kleinfelder did not have permission to trespass on private property. Additionally, some
of the wells depicted may no longer be present, as reported by the City of Tracy Water Resources
Coordinator. It is Kleinfelder's opinion that the sensitive receptors of most concern, based on
groundwater considerations, would be the municipal well at the Tracy Ball Park and domestic
well 2S/5E-17R81, if still present. The closest of the six sensitive land receptors are two assisted
living facilities noted within 150 to 200 feet from the site. However, Kleinfelder did not identify
any wells at these facilities.
LIMITATIONS
This report was prepared in general accordance with accepted standards of care which exist in
San Joaquin County at the time the investigation was performed. The scope of work was limited
to conducting a Sensitive Receptor Survey and a DWR file review of well logs within 2,000 feet
of the site. It should be recognized that definition and evaluation of conditions at the site and
surrounding areas are difficult. Judgments leading to conclusions and recommendations are
generally made with incomplete knowledge of the conditions present. The conclusions of this
assessment are based on field observations obtained during the time of reconnaissance and record
review. More extensive studies may further reduce the uncertainties associated with this
assessment. Kleinfelder should be notified for additional consultation if the client wishes to
reduce the uncertainties beyond the level associated with this report.
