Baseline and Meridian. A Section on the U.S. Geological map is one square mile. Kleinfelder
requested DWR well logs within Sections 16, 17, 20, and 21 of Township 2 South, and Range 5
East, which encompass a 2,000-foot radius from the site. Approximately 42 well logs were
_ supplied to Kleinfelder b DWR based
Y on this request. Ten of the well descriptions were found
either within the 2,000-foot search distance of the subject site or in proximity to the 2,000-foot
radius area. The remaining DWR well logs describe well locations outside the 2,000-foot search
1, or the well location descriptions were too vague to be located accurately.
Y
DWR records indicate that there are two domestic, one municipal and two irrigation wells
within the 2,000-foot radius of the site. A second municipal well 1 was identified south
and outside of the 2,000-foot radius. Please note the two municipal wells found in the
DWR record search according to the State Water Resources Control Board Geotracker
database have been abandoned (destroyed).
• Three monitoring wells and one groundwater extraction well (excluding the four
monitoring wells on the subject site) are located within the 2,000-foot radius.
Plate 2 shows the approximately 2,000-foot survey radius, location of the site, and the
approximate location of these ten wells. Two additional wells are also depicted on this map: Well
No. 26 and a City of Tracy well, as discussed below. The ten well logs are included in
Appendix A. Table 1 provides a summary of the DWR well logs.
Public Water Supply Agency
Kieinfelder contacted the City of Tracy, Public Works, Water Resources Coordinator, which
services the project area. Ms. Stephanie Reyna from City of Tracy Public Works was contacted
f by phone and requested to identify wells within 2,000 feet of the subject site. Ms. Reyna stated
J Yn
that there was one municipal well placed in the Tracy City Ball Park approximately 300 feet east
of Tracy Boulevard, located approximately 800-1000 feet southwest of the site. She also
confirmed the destruction of a former City of Tracy municipal well located at the Tracy Ball Park
(noted on Table 1). The new City of Tracy well was not documented in the DWR records.
According to Ms. Reyna, the City of Tracy supplies treated water to the site and surrounding
areas through this municipal well. During Kleinfelder's site reconnaissance, underground
vaults/monuments labeled "water", fire hydrants, and valves were observed in the areas
surrounding the site, which support Ms. Reyna's statement. She also stated that according to
' their best knowledge there are no domestic or irrigation wells within 2,000 feet of the subject site
I and that they have been destroyed or abandoned. Ms. Reyna also commented that there are no
other water purveyors servicing the project area.
Topographic Map Review
While reviewing DWR well locations on a USGS 7.5 Minute Series Union Island Topographic
Map, 1978, Klemfelder noted a well depicted within the 2,000-foot radius area of the site. This
well was identified as Well No. 26. This well was not observed during Kleinfelder's drive-by
reconnaissance of the area nor does it appear to have been identified in the DWR 2,000-foot
radius search. Therefore no well construction details or even confirmation that this well still
-•, exists is available based on our research.
CONCLUSIONS
As requested by San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division, a sensitive receptor survey
was performed for the site. A total of seventeen potential sensitive receptors were identified
49014.11ST04R1525 November 18, 2004
f Copyright 2004 Kleinfelder,Inc.
